Yacht Registration Documents


The documents required to be forwarded to the Authority to complete the registration of a yacht are provided in Form YR101 – Requirements for Registration and are also listed below. Applicants are requested to complete those pages of the application form that are relevant to the yacht being registered. Please note that it is necessary to include the payment of the registration fee and first year’s annual fee in order for the provisional registration of the yacht to be given effect.

APPLICATION FORM – ALL YACHTS

CERTIFICATES – ALL YACHTS

  • R209 – Bill of Sale
  • Copy of Protocol of Delivery and Acceptance
  • Copy of Certificate of Company Incorporation and original Certificate of Good
    Standing OR if a private individual: Appropriate National identity document
  • Bunker Convention CLC Only 1,000 GT and over Bn 112

CERTIFICATES – EXISTING YACHTS

  • Former Survey Certificate and/or copy of Certificate of Registry
  • Former International Tonnage Certificate
  • Former other Statutory Certificates issued under International Conventions and
  • Codes, including exemption Certificates.

CERTIFICATES – EXISTING COMMERCIAL YACHTS

  • Former Load Line Certificate 24 m and over
  • ISM Document of Compliance Optional if under 500 GT
  • ISM Safety Management Certificate Optional if under 500 GT
  • International Ship Security Certificate Optional if under 500 GT

OTHER ADVICE OR FEES

REQUIRED BEFORE PERMANENT REGISTRATION IS GRANTED

  • Release from Foreign Register
  • Declaration of No Liens on Foreign Register
  • Ship’s Carving and Marking Note
  • Confirmation of completion of Bahamas Certification
