The BMA’s Felicia Alleyne, New York Director, and Katie Clarke, Nassau Director, attended the second CLIA “Cruise Forward Summit” held from November 29 to December 1, 2023 in Miami, Florida. The summit commenced with a tour of the latest NCL Bahamas-flagged cruise ship, Norwegian Viva. Key conference discussions were centred around industry-shared objectives including decarbonisation, economic development through tourism, optimal port practices, sustainable impacts of cruising, and various travel-related topics. The Bahamas remains committed to actively participating in industry discussions aimed at bringing awareness of the many benefits of cruising such as positive economic impact and environmental initiatives.
