BMA at Seatrade Cruise Global 2019

The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) attended the annual Seatrade Cruise Global which was held 8 – 14 April 2019 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The main conference event focused on the state of the global cruise industry and the overall consensus is that optimism is high for the growth of the industry despite some of the challenges that come along with such growth. Sustainable Tourism, Innovation, Converting New Cruisers, Environmental Initiatives and Emerging Markets were all discussed during the conference sessions and seminars.  In the year of empowering women in the maritime community, it was welcomed to have one of the keynote events focused on the rise of female leadership in the cruise industry.

The Bahamas remains the world’s largest flag for passenger ships and the BMA delegation was able to engage with industry stakeholders to promote value and benefits of The Bahamas Registry.. The BMA was a proud sponsor of Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA)/Seatrade Speakers’ Business on the Bay Reception which was held at the Mondrian South Beach Hotel.
