The Bahamas is committed to UN Sustainability Development Goal 5 – Gender Equality – and supports the International Women’s Day 2023 theme “Embrace Equity”

On this International Women’s Day, The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) is committed to UN Sustainability Development Goal 5 – Gender Equality – and supports the International Women’s Day 2023 theme “Embrace Equity” as we embrace and recognise the invaluable contribution and work done by the many dedicated women within The BMA, the broader maritime sector and globally within other industries.  As we look to a future of greater inclusion, we also wish to pay tribute, provide encouragement, and welcome the next generation of female professionals who are entering shipping and who will make their mark as they shape the future of this important industry.
