In recognition of International Day for Women in Maritime 2026, the Bahamas Maritime Authority proudly celebrates the women whose experience, leadership, and commitment continue to strengthen the maritime industry both locally and internationally.

This year’s observance highlights the importance of creating greater opportunities for women across all areas of maritime and recognising the invaluable contributions they make in shaping the future of the sector.

Among those leading by example are Katie Clarke, Registrar and Director for the Nassau Office, and Juanita Butler, Registrar, whose combined decades of service reflect the growth and evolution of the BMA itself. From Nassau to key international maritime centres including London, New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, their careers demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and a lasting commitment to excellence within the global maritime community.
