Chartworld Shipping Christens Two New Bahamian-Flagged Vessels

The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) was pleased to take part in the christening of two new vessels – STAR OCEAN and STAR OPAL – ordered by Chartworld Shipping Corporation from New Dayang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Jiangsu), which is a subsidiary of SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd.  in Nanjing.

Held on 28 May 2025, the ceremony was attended by BMA’s Japan Director, Mr. Hitoshi Matsumoto, along with Chartworld executives including members of the Kollakis family (Ilias, Luke and Stefanos) and Chartworld Managing Director, Mr. Antonios Faraklas, who is also a Bahamas Shipowners Association Board member. A pre-ceremony gathering took place the day before.
