BMA Marks International Women’s Day with Industry Leaders

Members of the Bahamas Maritime Authority’s Nassau office, along with BMA Board Member Senator Ja’Ann Major, joined industry leaders in celebrating International Women’s Day at the “Give to Gain” event hosted by Nassau Cruise Port at the British Colonial Nassau.

The gathering brought together women from the maritime, cruise, cargo, tourism, and community sectors to recognise the important role women play in shaping the future of the industry and the nation. The programme featured a keynote address by The Hon. Jobeth Coleby-Davis, Minister of Energy and Transport, along with engaging panel discussions focused on women’s leadership, sustainability, and inclusion across the port and wider community.

Reflecting on the occasion, Senator Ja’Ann Major noted: “On International Women’s Day, we’re reminded that progress happens when we give to gain by sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, and lifting the next generation of women in maritime.”

Together, we continue to chart a course for greater representation and leadership across our industry.
