BMA holds Technical Seminar and attends BSA AGM in Greece during the week of October 7th October 2019

Greece represents the world’s largest shipowning market and it served as the location of the Bahamas Shipowners Association (BSA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference which was held in Piraeus at the Yacht Club of Greece on the 9th October 2019.

The theme of this year’s BSA AGM Conference was ‘2020 Vision – Seeing things the way they are’ with the focus on the Global Sulphur Cap regulations which will enter force on the 1st January 2020.  BMA Board Chair J. Denise Lewis-Johnson  and BMA Managing Director & CEO  Captain Dwain Hutchinson were honoured to join other distinguished members of the Greek and global maritime community in contributing to the discussions on this important issue for the shipping sector.

The BMA was pleased to attend the AGM, visited some of its clients and followed on from the AGM,  by delivering a technical seminar to further engage, provide guidance and discuss the upcoming Global Sulphur Cap and share experiences relating to port state inspections.  The events were well attended with many discussions on the possible impact of these forthcoming regulations with consideration of the solutions to address any challenges.
