The BMA delegation was led by Asia Regional Director, Capt. Jahangir Hussain. While the visit focused primarily on engaging with the shipping community in Fujian Province, the meetings also attracted interest from industry representatives from other regions, including Qingdao, reflecting the growing presence of the Bahamas flag in the Chinese maritime sector. The Chinese shipping industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, with continued fleet modernisation and increasing cooperation with international partners. The visit provided an opportunity for the BMA to strengthen relationships with shipowners, managers, and industry stakeholders, while highlighting the services and regulatory support offered by the Bahamas flag. Engagements such as this form part of the BMA’s broader strategy to deepen ties with the Chinese shipping community and support the continued development of mutually beneficial partnerships.
