The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) held its inaugural biennial Maritime Week, from the 6th – 11th, May 2018. The theme of the week was “Building The Maritime Industry For The Next Generation.” with the aim being to develop the maritime industry in The Bahamas and raise national awareness of the potential careers and business opportunities within the sector.
The first Maritime Week was named in honour of the BMA Deputy Chairman, Mr. Peter John Goulandris who has served as BMA Deputy Chair from the Authority’s inception and who was one of the driving force behind the establishment of the BMA and The Bahamas Shipowners Association.
The BMA engaged in a number of collaborative events with other national agencies and strategic partners to provide the requisite exposure and guidance on the maritime industry.
